Environmental Commitment

At Fairtax we strive to be good corporate citizens in all our endeavors.
We actively encourage our staff to involve themselves in volunteer
activities at a community level. In addition, we are continually seeking
to lessen our own "footprint" on the planet by finding ways to become less
wasteful in the resources we use. We believe that, even though we're not
a giant corporation, our responsibilities and contributions continue to be
meaningful. We strongly believe that we can make an impact on our
community and on our environment.

As evidence of our commitment, the following two write-ups detail staff
initiatives in participating and promoting fund raising activities for
breast cancer and lung disease research. In addition, our new brochure
was printed on 100% certified post-consumer waste and made with wind
power.

BC Consultant Scales Kilimanjaro
In 2005 Linda Pomerleau, our senior BC based Recovery Specialist, and a companion took on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and in so doing, raised more than $25,000 for Breast Cancer research. All of us
here at Fairtax congratulate Linda for her resoluteness, her initiative,
and for having the confidence of tackling such a task and putting it to
such a good cause.
BC Sales Staff Scale the Wall Centre
Fairtax believes in Clean Air and Healthy Lungs! In February 2007, four of
our Fairtax Sales staff took part in the Lung Association's 6th Annual
"Climb The Wall" event. Taking place in Vancouver's tallest building,
climbing The Wall Center's 48-storey rise was the challenge. Arriving at
the top, there were smiles and deep breaths, knowing that every dollar
raised went to assist in the prevention and awareness of respiratory
illness.
